How to Replace a Cord Loop in an EZ Glide Cellular Honeycomb Shade

Video ID: 181020

Introduction

An EZ or EasyRise cellular shade operates with a cord loop and a clutch. Pulling on the cord loop rotates the gear of the clutch mechanism. That, in turn, rotates a rod inside the top rail of the blind. The small strings that pass through the fabric of the shade roll up onto this rod. When the cord loop breaks, it is easy to replace it and get your shade back in working order.

A Note on Safety

Kids can strangle in blind cords. To make your blinds safer for kids, keep cords out of reach and secure cord and bead chain loops. To learn more, please visit our child safety guide.

  • Remove the cord by rotating the cord off with the gear.

Step 2 – Insert the new cord by rotating the cord around the clutch.

  • Insert the cover by the top tabs and then push the bottom into place.
